You don’t need to sweat it out for hours at a time to see a difference. Just 20 minutes a day can make a definite difference, and if you don’t have an extra 20 minutes to spare, then try 10 minutes a day. The results will be slower in coming, but they will come.

Even something less strenuous like ironing the clothes will beat watching TV soaps. Thirty minutes of ironing will get rid of around 75 calories.

The main reason is usually that you are expecting some diet plan, worked out by someone else, to do all the work for you. It won’t, and the reason is simple; you have to be in control for a diet plan to work, and that is assuming of course that the plan is a good one to start with too. There are many diet plans to lose weight you can choose from. Some work better than others. Some work more naturally than others too, which is usually better for your body. Losing weight too fast can be dangerous, and while that is often desirable for most people, it is much safer to lose weight at a slower and more normal rate. Your body will cope with the changes better and you’ll adjust more easily to the more gradual changes in your body size too.
Counting Calories To Lose WeightYou need to burn calories to lose weight, or at least, you need to burn off more calories than you take in to your body. We burn calories all the time, even when we sit still and watch our favorite soap on TV. However, watching TV for 30 minutes will only burn off around 35 calories, so it isn’t a very efficient way of losing weight. By contrast, if you walk briskly for 30 minutes you can expect to burn off around 160 calories, or almost five times more. To put things into perspective, say you want to eat a McDonald’s Big Mac with cheese, and then you want to exercise afterwards to get rid of the fattening effect it will have. In that case you would need to walk briskly for two hours, or about eight miles. That would just about negate the effects of this fast food meal, but would it be worth it? And more to the point, would you do it?
